Acupuncture Spa - Bad Typography!

Ok, this is coming straight from a typography class submitted by Jacob for a project on good and bad uses of typography. Could you guess this was one of the bad ones? Reasons cited were overuse of a decorative font and just overuse of text/content on a sign as well. I agree. It's all the same size, too, and all centered. So there you have it, pretty bad all around!

Papyrus Noshery

Another food-related sighting thanks to Jenny. The Noshery uses Papyrus as their logo, food no less, but that appears to be it. The site itself actually looks good, well layed out and seems like it's well maintained. Don't know why they'd use Papyrus.

River Street Bakery - Pies, Papyrus, and more
Wow, the challenge here is to spot the font that's not Papyrus! Thanks for sending this in to Papyrus Watch, Sabrina. Papyrus as a body copy font is just unacceptable.

Donate Blood for Ice Cream
Josh got this in an email ad. I think the whole thing is just plain awful too. Not that I'm against donating blood, in fact i wish this was a better ad. Very unfitting font, and free ice cream for blood?

Susan Seddon-Boulet-Papyrus
David sends yet another sighting to Papyrus Watch. This one is the website for San Fransisco Bay Area artist Susan Seddon-Boulet. Pretty much her entire website is in Papyrus, even small text which I find quite difficult to read. How very unoriginal.

Earth's Courier, Earth's Font
Look real close at the bumper of the VW above, www.EarthsCourier.com . Except it's not Earth's font. I don't really think Papyrus communicates earthy in that way that feels efficient enough to be "green" and modern.

Francesca's Papyrus Collection
Ben sent this shot to Papyrus Watch the other day. Turns out Francesca's website also has the Papyrus logo. The site's not that bad, but it's women's apparel so I really have no idea what I'm talking about there but apparently they have a ton of stores. Maybe they can be friends with Cleopatra Secrets.

Delia's Grand Papyrusing
Sheena found this on her car windshield. Ticketed with Papyrus! Terrible, terrible joke. Anyway, I was hoping it was going to be just a grand opening thing, but it's in their address too. I mean their logo's fine, where was the disconnect?

Waterlilies
Aaaand the third of Piedmont Avenue from David. Nothing much else to say after the last two, Make My Day or you can heal. One's just cheap, but what one was there first...

Papyrus on Southwest Airlines website?
Yeah, there is. Well @pjserven pretty much said it all on this Papyrus sighting on Southwest Airlines website which I thought was a special flight or trip package or something, but it might just be the homepage...it doesn't appear to be there now. Where am I going, Egypt?

Slaughter of the Soul!
Or slaughter of design, desktop publishing, etc. Or perhaps it means how a font was slaughtered by over-use. I don't know, but think about it. Thank you David (@zub on Twitter) for bringing this to our attention. Talk to us on Twitter too @papyruswatch.

San Diego. Our City? Or Papyrus' City?

Our city. The World's font. Thanks Trevor for sending this in! I don't really know what to say, seems like a big project that would have a knowledgeable designer. The website is well designed, pretty well organized at a glance and nice big type which I'm a fan of. Wish we had a copy of the premier for the wall.

You can heal...
You can also make your own posters in Word, with so many fonts to choose form that no one else has ever seen. You're going to stand out, Julie. Thankfully her website, although not spectacular, probably gets the job done just fine without Papyrus.
This is part two of three of the Piedmont Avenue gauntlet in Oakland, California captured by David.
