Olives Restaurant, Michigan!

olives page 1

olives page 2

Thanks go to Jack for sending this great find form Olives Restaurant (EatAtOlives.com - like their URL) in Grand Rapids, Michigan:
"Their food...great.

Their menu...Papyrus."
While I can't speak for the food (although I want a California Burger right now) their menu is 100% Papyrus.

Papyrus on Dexter!

Papyrus on Dexter

Wow, can't believe we skipped over this one in the ole Papyrus archive. Remember when Masouka was planning Dexter's bachelor party (with Platinum Enterprises, as seen in the lower right)?

Clearly this is supporting media that was just panned over by the camera for a couple seconds (good eye Nick), and we'd like to think that the designer snuck in the Papyrus for some LOLs. But anyway, awesome.

McDonald's Chipotle Papyrus

McDonald's Chipotle Super Papyrus

Holy crap, we finally got it. McDonalds using Papyrus...the worst yet and maybe ever. I think this may be specific to McDonalds Canada because I couldn't find the ads online anywhere with Papyrus in the US. Don't they have a design team? How did this happen and who's responsible for this? But seriously, I should write a letter this time.

That's about all you can say about this, but we've actually tried the chipotle wrap and it's pretty good.

Tappy Tunes!

iPhone App Store Papyrus

This is from an app in the iTunes App Store called Tappy Tunes. It was featured in the new apps section for a brief period. A lovely array or fonts...

Ok wait - so we can see our friend Comic Sans, for "Childrens", seems fitting. If Comic Sans is childish does that mean Papyrus is devotional? What does that even mean? Devoted to being on everything, everywhere?

Un...believable?

Rascal Flatts

Update, March 15: The results are in...and the winner is...not Papyrus, don't worry.

One of these things is not like the other one...(In all seriousness) one of these things really just doesn't belong. You know what I'm talking about.

Now at first I didn't know what the hell I was looking at, three of those designs are rather nice. Then I got back to the previous page which explains that these are user-submitted designs for the Rascal Faltts' new album Unstoppable. I can't tell if this Andy Warhol-esque Papyrus design is a joke or actually for real. Apparently these are the narrowed down results, so you see my predicament here. So folks, go vote for your favourite. I'm torn between the opportunity to prevent this instance Papyrus from making it to music store shelves everywhere...and the sheer hilarity of this instance Papyrus making it to music store shelves everywhere.

What's your vote?

Nair Soothing Papyrus

Nair Yarmouth Zeller's

Thanks you Nicola for spotting this. Of all the fonts on this package and ones available to your designers, someone screwed up (unless of course it's a huge inside joke and the design team is laughing and the brand managers are loving the naturalness of the Papyrus, oblivious).

And of course, this post wouldn't be complete without some fun and interesting facts!
Nair is a brand under Church & Dwight Co., Inc. (CHD), perhaps most popular for their Arm & Hammer brand, among a large portfolio of other household products, with 2007 net sales exceeding $2 billion (and they still ended up with Papyrus).

This appears to be the only use of Papyrus throughout the Nair product line and CHD's portfolio, but please, send in a shot to the contrary.

Papyrus Presents: Richard Branson!

Richard Branson and Papyrus on Discovery Chanel

"You've gotta be kidding me...Do you have any idea who I am? I know that's Papyrus. You think I'm stupid? I subscribe to papyruswatch.com".

Seriously. I caught this on the Discovery Channel the other night at a friends house on our way out the door. Apparently it's form Season 4, Episode 15 of Mind Freak, called Billionaire Prediction. From what I can tell it was just Discovery Channel that aired it with the Papyrus. C'mon Discovery...this guy's a billionaire-super-space-tourism-knight who ascends into crowds on a zip wire. Just look at the guy, he knows, he sees the Papyrus.

Fun Facts! For your interest (because we care at Papyrus Watch):
When searching for info on this show I discovered this isn't the first time Branson and Angel have appeared together. In 2007 they did a launch for "post-paid" contracts for Virgin Mobile in Canada, and again to kick off the Virgin Unite charity here in Canada.

Soulfire Tattoo Studio

Soulfire Tattoo Studio

There's a fire in my soul, and it burns for Papyrus. Seriously though, I've been thinking about Papyrus and tattoos since I got this submission from Lindsay Bea. I wonder if anyone has one? My dreams have been plagued with people going in, complementing their cool font and wanting a tattoo designed with it. I think I'll avoid Soulfire for my tattooing needs. Or maybe I should just go for a Papyrus tattoo and get it over with...

Oh, and thanks again Lindsay, keep 'em coming! (She has indeed kept them coming and we have a super gem waiting to go up soon!)

Soy Pudding

Soy Pudding Yarmouth Superstore 2

If there's one thing that loves Papyrus more than food, it's organic food. So if you're in an organic food store, have a game of Papyrus Watching with your friends.

Organic Flax Seed

Flax Seed Yarmouth Superstore

All those organic certifications must have soaked up the design budget. Although it's not really that bad...guess this is another case of Papyrus-Designer love.

Fresh Papyrus Salad

cobb salad nj

Sounds like just as good a name as Cobb Salad. Actually after reading about this salad it sounds absolutely delicious...bacon, chicken, egg, avocado...Too bad about the Papyrus.

This one's from the archives from our trip to NJ, found at the ShopRight, which was in fact, open 24 hours, sold buffet-style food to go by the pound, and had a liquor store in it that sold mix. ShopRight FTW.
