Avatar is Papyrus?
This December, Papyrus hits the big screens. David caught James Cameron (or some oblivious designer) using Papyrus for the new Avatar movie. He even shows us how it's could be done in a few steps in 8 minutes in Photoshop.
Yeah, and can we do the poster and stuff with that font on all the Asian restaurants down at the mall? I love that font! We've received several submissions and tweets about this recently when the trailer was released. So there we have it. More Papyrus making it's way into major productions. But, there are people noticing, it's getting too far out of hand. And don't movies usually have their own custom fonts? I mean c'mon, this is a pretty intense looking multi-million-dollar production. Anyway, there it is. I guess James Cameron just really loves Papyrus.
Thanks to everyone who pointed this out to us.

Seattle Bicycle Music Fest Posteriffic Poster!

John snags us this gem of a poster for the Seatle Bicycle Music Fest. I actualy think I like this poster aside form the Papyrus, extra points for using the word "gazillions" (but -1 for spelling it wrong, even thought it's not an actual number). Also included in the email was this fun little ASCII art bike which I will also share:

Catholic Underground loves Papyrus

I almost missed this one! Another great Papyrus sighting from Drew of the The Haunting in Connecticut post. This one's a screenshot fomr the website for the Catholic Underground. I dind't really read anything on the site but it looks like they've got a lot going on, and an abundance of Papyrus.

Halifax Beerfest
Awwww there was Papyrus at the Halifax Beerfest. But I didn't drink it. Can you find it?

The Halifax Beer Festival on the Peir had many beers, and only one Papyrus. Not really surprised by the sighting considering there were supposedly 140 different beers...but there's always one...

Let the judgement flow...
Introducing...the quickpoll thingy! Now everyone can vote on whether any of the usages of Papyrus here are flat out unacceptable, forgivable (charities or developing nations), or *gasp* you like it (haven't noticed it everywhere you go...yet).
PS: Badge added for a dash of irony ;)
PPS: You can even vote on this post...great!
Papyrus + McDonalds II

McDonalds is at it again, as Kristen points out form Hawaii. This time thought it appears to be at the store-level rather than this corporate blunder of McDonalds Chipotle Papyrus ads.

Papyrus in Second Life

Here we have a Papyrus sighting in Second Life, among other hilarities. Looks like you can't escape this font anywhere, in any life. I find everything about this picture hilarious actually, and swear I saw that hat move more than once, and no this isn't an animated gif. Thanks a lot to Grant for sending this in.
Papyrus sightings on the Pacific Coast

Joe snapped these Papyrus shots during a trip along the Pacific Coast. We seem to be getting a lot of Papyrus sightings lately, which kind of surprises me. Anyway, thanks Joe, totally understand your frustration, it's like being in a craft store in the candle section (if that doesn't make sense it will soon, trust me).
