Font Fluxx

Wait, what? Keiya send us some interesting info on a line of card games called Fluxx by Looney Labs. Looks like some sort of "rules"-like card game.  I've never heard of it, but they've got a religion-themed version called Christian Fluxx, and yes you guessed it, use one of Christianity's favourite fonts, Papyrus. The cards are sort of neat looking though. See also Eco Fluxx, Drinking Fluxx, and Stoner Fluxx. Well now I've gotta go read more into what this Fluxx game is all about, I'm kind of intrigued now.

  1. You know, it's so very hard to bring the font-hammer down on Christian themed things. They appear to really, REALLY love the fact that this font might have possibly looked just like Jesus' own handwriting (albeit not being in English). At least, that's the only explanation I can personally find.

  2. I've played this game and a number of others from this company. They always slip tons of light humor in their games and I wouldn't put it past them to use Papyrus for the Christian Fluxx expansion BECAUSE of the strong association.

  3. I agree with Nick - fluxx is an awesome game (my friends and I played Martian Fluxx last night!) and they don't use this font for any of their other sets. Could be an ironic use if there ever was one.

  4. I think it's ironic. The Fluxx-makers are the kind of people to notice that christians often use papyrus on their stuff, so they make a parody.

Fluxx is fun. Go buy a set and grab some friends and chech it out.

  5. Haven't played the expansions, but Fluxx is a great game...
